Grimlore Games released Titan Quest II’s announced crafting system and explains four central actions. A found item remains the starting point, preserving suitable loot’s value while allowing individual poor properties or falling item levels to be corrected.
Reforge rerolls a selected affix’s value within its possible range. Replace exchanges a property for a permitted alternative. Each action can affect only one affix per item. An item with several unsuitable properties therefore does not automatically become a perfect foundation.
Add and Upgrade
Add Affix applies when the maximum property count has not been reached. It starts with higher costs and requires Vital Flame, among other materials. Permitted affixes still depend on the item; not every property can be added to every object.
Upgrade Item Level improves base values and affix tiers once. Epic items qualify too, but affix improvement has a ceiling: an early item does not automatically reach the values of a later high-level drop.
Selling or Salvaging Becomes a Decision
Gold and materials compete for the same loot. Some crafting resources drop from enemies; many come from salvaging unwanted items. Magic, Rare, Infrequent and Epic items yield different materials. Repeated work on an item needs increasingly demanding resources.
Costs can rise with each additional attempt. Grimlore therefore recommends eventually seeking another base. Price determines whether a small further improvement justifies the effort. Titan Quest II: Change Affixes, Upgrade Item Levels and Obtain Crafting Materials separates the four actions and their material sources.
