FL4K and the Last Resort takes Borderlands 4 players to Providence, where they help FL4K rescue Mr. Chew from Tediore. The story does not begin automatically for an existing Vault Hunter. You need the story content and must first complete A Lot to Process in the Fadefields.
After that, the starting point is a distress beacon near The Bones of Sanctuary in the Terminus Range. Your ECHO map marks it as a new mission. Gearbox recommends level 13 or above for this content. You can also start a new Vault Hunter directly at the DLC at level 13.
Start Providence With an Existing Vault Hunter
- Check that you own the FL4K and the Last Resort story content as well as the base game.
- Complete A Lot to Process in the Fadefields.
- Look on your ECHO map for the new mission at the distress beacon near The Bones of Sanctuary in the Terminus Range.
- Interact with the distress beacon to begin FL4K and the Last Resort.

If you would rather start with a new character, the game also offers an option to begin that Vault Hunter directly at FL4K and the Last Resort at level 13.
Which Purchase Unlocks Providence
The base game is required, along with the FL4K and the Last Resort story content. That content is included in the Super Deluxe Edition and Vault Hunter Pack and is available separately. The independently sold Loveless character is distinct from the story content, Providence map and missions. Owning Loveless alone therefore does not give you access to the Providence mission.
If the distress beacon does not appear as a new mission for your existing Vault Hunter, check those two conditions first: do you own the story content, and have you completed A Lot to Process? The beacon is near The Bones of Sanctuary in the Terminus Range, and the ECHO map can guide your search.
What Awaits on Providence
Providence combines tropical jungle with an active volcano. Tediore has sent an expedition after the island’s Ordonite, led by five managers serving Lieutenant Harmony. Alongside Tediore troops and machinery, the area adds ziplines for travel through its vertical terrain.
